Rosie’s Retreat

Our luxury shepherd’s hut offers the perfect Lake District glamping experience. Rosie’s Retreat is a traditional looking shepherds hut from the outside, overlooking open fields towards the Lake District fells.

Woodhead Farm Cottage

Woodhead Farm Cottage offers a traditional Lake District farmstay self-catering experience. Our 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom property sleeps six and has plenty of living and dining space.

The Old Cook House

The Old Cook House is a 2 bedroom luxury self catering cottage, sleeping up to 4. Set within a cobbled yard, the farm cottage looks out back onto an apple orchard.

Our brand new private caravan site at Woodhead Farm offers 11 fully services, exceptional motorhome and touring caravan pitches. All pitches are fully serviced.

CL Caravan Site

Our CL site has hard standing and grass pitches with electrical hook-ups, space for an awning and a shower/toilet block. All pitches are hard standing pitches with electric and water hook up. We have a new shower/toilet and wash up area, grey waste point, Chemical waste point and recycling area. Caravan and Motorhome members only.

With easy access from both the West Coast Mainline (Penrith & The Lakes) and the M6, Woodhead Farm is nestled on the edge of the Lake District National Park, and just a short drive from Ullswater. We are perfectly placed for excursions into the Lake District National Park, the Eden Valley and the Pennines. We are surrounded by some of the UK’s finest cycling and walking trails, and provide an ideal escape for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. A very quiet site in a prime location.

Pitch size is perfect, even for our very large twin axle caravan and full size awning.

In our opinion, the toilet and shower block at campsites is one of the most important factors when we're away, and this site certainly didn't disappoint! The shower units are the biggest we've seen and importantly, they have proper taps!

Everywhere is super clean, including the washing up area.

Honestly, if you're looking for a great site, you won't go wrong here. Get it booked!!

The site itself is beautifully maintained, with excellent facilities that were always clean and well looked after. The atmosphere is very chilled and friendly, making it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the countryside.

What really made my stay memorable was the kindness of the owners. They were both so welcoming from the moment I arrived and made me feel completely at home. I managed to get myself lost while out walking and ended up feeling quite scared after finding myself in a field with some cows. One of the owners very kindly came out and rescued me, which I was incredibly grateful for.

A lovely campsite, great facilities, a beautiful setting, and genuinely lovely owners. I’ll definitely be back.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The campsite has been the best one we visited during our stay in the Uk. We rang the site if there was still a pitch since we had to drive for 3 hours. We spoke with David and soon learned that he is as lovely in person as he was on the phone.

We arrived, set up our 7.3 meter motorhome and made ourselves comfortable. The showers are actually bathrooms with toilet in it as well. They were out of this world, everything was clean, there was hot water and the showerhead was like home.

We used this campsite to visit Ullswater. If you want to do the same and you have a campervan like ours, make sure you go early (arrive at 7:30 ish). Park at the information center in Glenridding (£10.00 for a day). There are parking spots in the back (right side) where you can hang the back of the motorhome over a field of grass. During the day parking such a car is almost impossible.

Me and my wife had the best time at this campsite and David and Julie are the nicest people. The moment that will forever stick with me is when i walked out of our motorhome in the morning and bumped into David who was doing his recycling. I said to David: ”What a shame of the drizzle this morning.” On which he replied: “Yes but it’s a beautiful day isn’t it?” My day was made.

Go visit, it is a gem of a campsite.

She provide electricity and always there if you need anything. Water ,bathroom, electricity is all available. Toilet and shower are clean, very quiet place with playground for kids to play and view of farm and lamb. The lady welcome with beautiful smile and comforting gesture. All takeaways and town nearby ,this place is very close to motorway, very accessible.I would give 10 out of 5 if I have that option. I highly recommend this place . I am reviewing as I am exiting the campsite so I don't forget to rate later. I wish you all the best for your business. We stayed 3 night.
